History

For Harry's first seventeen years, see the eponymous fiction series we adore, books 1-7. I think those thousands of pages summarize it quite nicely.

After the war, Harry went back to Hogwarts to rebuild the school, attending his seventh year a year too late. His relationship with Ginny was on-again, off-again (even though they haven't been together for some time, he only has eyes for her). Harry received top marks on his requisite NEWTs, and upon graduation from Hogwarts, immediately enrolled in the auror training program, hoping that Mad-Eye and Tonks (and basically everyone else) would have been proud of him.

Harry lived on his own for a while, but when George married Angelina, he moved in with his best friend. He enjoys living with Ron again, and although the apartment is not quite the shag pad either of them would have hoped (Harry is still a virgin), he likes how they're living.

Though he's "dated" other girls (taken them out for dinner, snogged them, but nothing more than that, really), Harry's never been able to get Ginny off of his mind. He is Harry Potter, after all, so he's able to get a date if he wants, but he feels like most girls want to date him because of his celebrity and not for who he is inside, whereas he knows that Ginny truly loved him at some point in time. Harry has season tickets to see both the Cannons and the Harpies play (though he'd never admit to Ron that he's starting to like the Harpies more).

Harry is currently a full-fledged auror, having recently completed his intern years, and is hoping to soon help restructure the entire program. He hopes that within the next ten years, he'll be running the place (well, the auror department, not the entire ministry).

He has remained close with the entire Weasley clan, as well as many members of the DA - he and Neville Longbottom frequently have lunch together, and Luna visits quite often. He also goes back to Hogwarts at least once a year to give guest lectures in the DADA class.

Harry has been instrumental in his godson's life. Having grown up an orphan, Harry understands the need for a loving family, so he visits Andromeda several times a week or invites them over for dinner - he showers Teddy with gifts and affection, treating him as if he were his own child or little brother.

Personality

Well, he's Harry Potter, if that's a good enough description. Oh, it's not? OK, well, here goes.

During his school years, Harry was a pretty tortured soul - after all, he had the weight of the entire wizarding world on his back, and people were basically dying left and right to protect him, so almost had every right to be as PMS-y as he wanted.

Since the war ended, Harry has been a considerably different person. He's more happy go lucky, he looks at life in a positive manner, and realizes that life is short so he makes the best of what he has.

However, deep inside of Harry is still that hard-headed, stubborn teenager who is relentless and has to do things his own way. He's learning how to compromise, though.

At his core, Harry is a caring, loving guy, who does whatever it takes to do the right thing and to protect those he cares about. He's a true friend, and will never betray someone's trust.
